Unit 6

This assignment sort of did itself. The idea for the Dutch theme comes from the fact that my wife is visiting her mother in the Netherlands and I miss her terribly. The only image that is not my own is that of the lion rampart, but it's in the public domain, as it is part of the Dutch coat of arms. The windmill picture is actually a picture of a large, framed poster we have in our bedroom. The wooden shoes are the largest we have hanging above the doorway in our living room. I designed the watermark to be my personal logo for all of my website projects going forward. I may decide to retrofit it to my past projects, but haven't decided yet.

After I did the first version, I went back to add some paintbrush elements. I wanted to make the lion more lively and incorporate the Dutch flag (behind the shoes). It seemed to be more in the spirit of one of the artists we studied in class, Eduardo Recife, who is known for his work in collages.
